behind the fuse panel I fount that they were melted together... are the from the generator or the rectifier... and would it effect the turn signals...

That is the wires that come from the alternator and I believe they go to the rectifier next. That is a common issue with these bikes, and it will play havoc on ALOT of things. I'd replace that connector before you start trying to diagnose any other electrical gremlins.

that's what I. do is cutting out all the bad wire I cut about 8 inchs up the wording harness and about only 3 inchs are bad so I'm splicing new white wire in with solder and butt connectors...

Yep, otheres have eliminated that connector which it sounds like your also doing. Now get ready for the next twenty post to debate soldering and connectors.

well I'm not entirely getting rid of the connectors just replacing the bad part and adding new male ends to it then I'm done. very strong joints... should be ok.... but never really answered my question... will these three wire effect my turn signals? and last summer my headlight would turn on and off during rides think this was the problem?

Those wires will affect a large range of things. The lights in the dash, the tach function, signals, battery, etc... That is where the power comes from to run the bike. If no power is being sent through the system, the battery will drain, and cause the signals to stop working. It will also prevent the headlight relay from clicking on.

Geezer sells those connectors if you want to put it back to stock. I soldered mine together until my field coil wen bad and I had to replace the wires entirely. I decided to put the connector back on at that point. Whatever you do, use a large gauge wire and protect the connections from corrosion. The corrosion is what caused the heat that melted the connector in the first place.

I had answered it somewhat criptically, yes, it can effect those an many other things as Bug has stated. Basically, you can chase electrical gremlins all month until you fix that, and once you fix it, the rest may disappear.

well I gave the connectors a really good douse of dielectric grease..so I hope they don't corrode..lol....but when running signals still don't work..

Do you have the original stock fuse box? Start with the fuse and follow the wires to see where the juice stops flowing.

I have never had an issue with a flasher relay, not sure if the lights will light if it is bad or not.

Most likely problem spots would be the fuse and then the left handle bar switch.

I second the left handlebar switch. Lots of small moving parts in there that get corroded and stop working. Since the alternator wires were that corroded, it stands to reason that the signal switch could be just as bad.

Check the electrical connections at the headlight, and the headlight relay itself. You can open the relay and look inside. Mine had a pile of corrosion in it, making it act funky. Cleaned it out and sealed it back up, and it works good as new!
