  • Xj1100 Handle bars

Has antone put tube stye handle bars on their xj, replacing their stock blot on 3 piece? I talked to te local shop, they said I could use a riser from a dirt bike to bolt on to the top of my triple tree. then I could put normal bars on that. Any comments?

    thanks

Why would you want to? The XJ handlebars are adjustable to whatever angle you may want to put them in.

I want to lower them, I don't enjoy riding with my arms the same height as my sholders. i'm not a big fan of high bars. It's also probably becacase i'm a young kid that wants a more stylish bike with out the stylish cost of an new bike.

You'll have to try and see if it'll fit but a Special top clamp may do the trick.

I have a pair of 80 Special camps that I'd let go real cheap (I don't have the handle bar clamps) if you want to try them.

The XJ bars fit splines on the top of the fork tubes and have a pinch bolt that holds them in place. The XS bars fit in clamps with a bolt that threads down the middle of the fork tube. (I think...)

Last couple of nights I've been working my 2nd job, have not had a chance to look up the microfiche and see what the differences are, but know from past discussions this is not an easy swap. Will try to check tonight after my son's 17th birthday party......

            Guys,

I was just seeing if anyone had done that yet... My parts came in last night. I bolted up the new mounts they fit perfect...Ok almost. I had to ream out the hole in the top tree for new bolts. I can post a picture later if any one wants to see. My plan this weekend is to go to JC Whitney and get a "mini" fairing. Good thing I only live an hour and a half away, I'm taking my bike to get the best looking one. I am still interested in knowing if other model will fit my XJ. thanks!!!

Hey there, would like to see some pics of the fairing when you get it.

              Thanks.
