  • Cracked Sissy Bar support

Doesn't seem like a serious, structural problem to me, but wanted to confirm.

    On an XJ11...

    Right side is worse:

Left side hasn't separated yet, but is cracked all the way through:

I wouldn't be paniced, but I'd say it's time to find a replacement bar on ebay or around here.
    1980 XS850SG - Sold
    1981 XS1100LH Midnight Special (Sold) - purchased 9/29/08
Fully Vetterized and Dynojet Kit added, Heated Grips, Truck-Lite LED headlight, Accel Coils, Irridium plugs, TKAT Fork Brace, XS850LH Final Drive & Black SS Brake lines from Chacal.
Here's my web page devoted to my bike! XS/XJ User's Manuals there, and the XJ1100 Service Manual and both XS1100 Service manuals (free download!).

No, your bike is ruined and dangerous and you should get rid of it quickly. I just happen to be planning a vacation in Colorado in June. In the spirit of brotherhood, I volunteer to haul that thing off at no cost to you.

Or you could just replace those bars....

        Thanks guys.

We don't have the money to replace things that don't really need replacing.
