i am having the problem with first gear.. does anyone know a place where, if i have to get a new one in new jersey. and anyone near hunterdon county done the "fix" before.. i am not sure what i am getting into.. i have a 79 xs.. thanks

You can find the gears online, they tend to run about $100 a piece.

The fix is not as hard as it looks. Buy the right tools, as in the Torq bit, and the dremel bits suggested. Otherwise, you will have no problems, take your time, and read all of the tech tip carefully a couple times before you even begin.

I have done it 5 times now, and never flipped the bike. Centerstand every time.

thanks for the help..i was going to try an engine hoist to pick up the front..i am gonna give it a shot..thanks again
