    Petcock towers

We are working on getting this 78 street worthy and the pet cocks are a mess. The filter towers are really bad. Are the towers for the 1100s all the same? Or are there differences betwween the standards and the specials?

I do not know about the towers in particular, but the petcocks themselves are not interchangable between Standards and Specials.

My experience is that they are only interchangeable between petcocks that are the same but I have not tried every combination available. If you can't find petcock filters that will fit use in line filters. Most do anyway.

The petcock 'towers' are model specific, i.e. standard and special, and don't interchange. And if you fail to install them, the 'on' and 'reserve' positions will be the same... when you run out of gas, you'll be out...

Since your 78 is a standard, it shares the petcock with the XS650. That being said, check Mike's XS for a replacement tower.

Thanks for the info guys. Tried to fit some towers from a xs750 and they are not even close. We are looking into the Mike's suggestions although we my just go with filters and retain the towers so the stand pipes do their job.
