      Yep, mine was bad when I first pulled it apart. Everything but the cylinder was bad, but the rebuild kit takes care of all ills if you can clean up the cylinder. Seems to me I sprayed some of my favorite TriFlo and let it sit before I used some flitz or some other metal polish on a cloth wrapped drill bit carefully polishing the cylinder. Finished product looks great. Hang in there. I thought mine was simply beyond repair until I started working on it. Cleaned right up.

      I'm a big fan of synthetic brake fluid to push back a lot of those problems associated with regular fluid absorbing water and going bad.

        Good idea. Hadn't even thought of polishing the cylinder. Was just going to clean and go, but I'll add this extra step.

        Want the brakes working as best they can!!
