  • Russell Speed bleeders

Anybody know what part number to get? I went to Mopac to pick some up and they had no stock. Guy said he didn't think he would be able to get the correct size. He ordered 639520...yes/no?

    Thanks

I don't know about the russel speed bleeders, but I can say the Motive power bleeder is a GOD SEND when it comes to bleeding any brake system. And, you don't need the speed bleeders on everything you bleed either (but you may need different adapters to fit the master cylinders...)

Of course, I've never used it on my bike. The brake handle/pedal is so close to the bleed screw that I simply operate the bleeder with one hand and operate the master cylinder with the other. It goes very quickly like this.

      Hi Bob,

Yes, those should work for you. The thread size on those is listed as 8mm x 1.25mm and 24mm overall length. That's as close as they get to the bleeder screws on an XS1100.

        Thanks Yahman.
As long as they work, that's all I care about.

cl - I'll go with the $16 speed bleeders instead of the $80 power bleeder for now. More money to spend on the bike itself

My speed bleeders were my teenage kids... they could bleed (money) with astonishing speed...
