    Day ?
I have been doing light restoration work on an old all original 80' xs1100 special new brakes and master cylinder re-build, tyres, and a few other things. getting her back into shape. I finally got all my parts in the mail and the weather gets cold and rainy, go figure. Today though even though it is 37 degrees and raining I am working on it. However as I am finally getting the brakes and rear wheel put back on I discover a washer that I cannot remember where it goes. It is about the size of a quarter and fat as a nickle...my Clymers is useless in this case. Suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Francis Livingston

Doesn't it go on the axle before the nut? Should be chromed as well.

Wow I hate how easy that sounds. Soon as it stops raining I'm gonna go and try it. Thanks!

Welcome by the way! There seems to be quite a few newer people in the Chicago area. I am just north of you in the Milwaukee area.

That or did you have the shocks off, that sounds alot like the washer that goes behind the acorn nut on the shocks to.

I should be in Chicago Thursday afternoon. Time for another tour of Northern Indiana. Warsaw and SouthBend tomorrow, Crown Point and Chicago Thursday.

Mine didn't have anything under the acorn nuts on the shocks! I did put a washer there but it is nowhere near the size of the axle washer!

Thanks! It is cool to hear of some Chicagoans(sp?).
I haven't taken the shocks off yet so its not them, I didn't put a washer on the axle (dumb) so I think that is the one.
              Thanks,
