  • Fuse Question

I am in the process of putting in the Del City Fuse block on my 79F. I am inserting the main fuse into the block as well. I labeled my wires, but "D'oh" I didn't label the amps on each set. Does any one have a picture or diagram of the amps required left to right on the original set up? I still have them in the original order.

Also--looks like the PO pig tailed the license plate bulb into the main fuse. Is this correct or should I incorporate this wire into another fuse?

As always, thanks for the help.

I might have found solution to the first question. Are the 2 brown wires the 20 amp fuse?

The fuse with a brown wire on each end should be the 20 amp turn signal fuse.

Thanks! That's what I thought--but I have thought wrong many times.

The blade fuse installed by the PO has 2 blue wires from the wiring harness, I assume this is the main fuse as it is 30amps. This is the one that PO pigtailed the license plate bulb to.

According to the 79F wiring diagram, the licence plate light (also the running light) gets it's power thru the blue wire from the ign switch which gets it's power from the 30 amp main fuse.

            Main 30
            Tail 10
            Head 10
            Signal 20
            Ign 10

At least, that's how I remember it. The wires that go to the 20 amp fuse are 12 or 14 gauge. I believe the rest are 18 gauge. You'll surely recognize the difference. Of course, the red wires go to the 30 amp fuse.
