  • Just head cover gasket

I want a valve cover gasket, and only a valve cover gasket. They're $25-40 each from the dealer. Who sells just one gasket on the aftermarket?

You don't NEED a gasket there. RTV works better usually anyways (you need a little rtv anyways on the cam plugs on the end anyways)

      Marty,

I do not know of anyone who sells them cheaper. I have made one once, a real PITA to cut out. The UK site has a great template guide that lets you print out a full size template of about every gasket on the bike. I had trouble finding gasket material large enough to get it one piece though, but eventually found some.

Honestly though, that one did not seal perfectly and now I also use RTV for that.

Parts N More has it. It's very difficult to find anything on that site, but the price is about a third of OEM.

I ended up with a complete engine because the valve cover gasket leaks. Better off to use RTV or Yamabond or the like. It will seal better, be easier to clean up and will cost less. The only place that NEEDS a gasket is the head and the oil filter cup. Everything else seals better with RTV or Yamabond.
