  • Throttle sleeve

I put the Gran Tourismo style grips from mikesxs on the bike today. Look great, but the throttle side is a bit long. Also, the ridges and raised edge of the throttle sleeve cause the grip to bulge out where it extends past the bar end. Is this throttle tube the only one that will fit, or is there a longer/smoother one that will work on this bike??

    Cheers!

The fix I have heard of is to put a piece of copper pipe the right size in the end of the grip to fill out the very end, as I don't think you can change out the tube without changing out the controls completely.

If you want to run the longer grips since there is more options another option is to change out the throttle tube and use one for the Feejer(FJR). Is obviously a double cable set-up, but for our antiques just use the one cable slot.........and does fit internal portion of housing......JAT

The trottle sleeve I got has no ridges whatsoever. It's completely smooth.

To get my Kuryakyn grips on I had to take a strip of sandpaper and remove the ridges from my throttle sleeve. There was no way they would go on without taking the ridges off. On one of them I used a few washers as spacers in the end which also acts a s bar end weights. On the other I went with a piece of PVC pipe as a spacer for the end. Both work well. I like the washers better personally because the extra wieght seems to have helped with bar vibration.
