  • PNS master cylinder kit

My master cylinders have seen better days, and are in serious need of a tune up from the PO. I am looking at the front and rear master cylinder repair kits at Parts n More and I want to make sure that the kits are the same for specials and standards.

    The part numbers are:
Front Brake Master Cylinder Repair Kit
    #08-0204
Rear Brake Master Cylinder Repair Kit
    #08-0216

I have an SF. Thanks for the help.

The kits are the same for both. One thing to check is to make sure the bike has the right master cylinders on it. I've run into a couple that have been 'POed' with 'other' parts that look the same but aren't. Both should be marked; the front should have an '11/16' cast into it, and the rear should say '1/2'. If yours have this on them, the kits will work...

I am pretty darn sure that the master cylinders have not been changed, but I will definitely check that out.

        Cheers guys

You know I hope that most times the internal parts can be reused. Just taking them apart and cleaning all the crap out often works. I have new kits around here that stayed unused after I found a good cleaning was all it needed. Take the rubber parts and store in brake fluid while you clean the cylinders.

Ya I was hoping that would be all I needed too, but after a good cleaning some of the parts still need replacement.
