  • lost spring

    hey there!!
    does anyone know where i might find one of those little springs under the horn button?? i seem to have misplaced mine!!
    any help would be great! thanks!!

    Lots of Japanese bikes used a similar horn/starter button and spring setup. You might be able to find something workable at a local dealer, especially if they have a a smart, older parts guy. Also, Parts n More now lists replacement buttons with springs.

      You could try your local hardware store, Yamaha dealer or go to http://www.650motorcycles.com/mikesxs.html and buy a new button and spring for $6. The part number is 24-6525. While you are there, check out the 17 pages of parts. A lot of them will fit XS11s.

        I've never had mine apart so I don't know what they look like but would the spring from a 'click' type ball point pen work?

          Nope. It's a copper spring... about 1/4" diameter, IIRC.
