Hey there, i have a 1979 special that i bought as a project. The clock shows 18k. All in all a clean bike but i'm really getting tired of chasing carburetor gremlins. Over the years a couple of float posts were snapped off and there was a broken easy out in one pilot jet.as stock carbs seem to be at a premium i am curious to know if anyone has explored replacing the stock carbs with those from another make or model that may be more readily available? I want to thank everyone for all the valuable info as it has been a great help in this project, johnny

Yeah, the ZRX carbs are supposed to work pretty well, you do however have to modify them to add a vacuum barb for the vacuum advance to one of the carbs though. A couple of the guys figured out just where and how to do it though, and got it to work really smoothly and reportedly with smoother power and better mileage.Cy
