    How do you adjust the idle on a 80sg. I saw a map showing the ajustment between carbs 2 and 3. But Im not seeing it. are the 78/79 carbs different for adjusting the idle. Does anyone have a pic of the adjustment for my carbs. Thanks guys.

    The idle adjusted knob is on the bottom on the late carbs instead of the top like the early carbs.

      Like Nate said, on the bottom front, in between carbs 2 and 3, the large knob.

        Phil, VERY nice looking carbs there!!

        Here is a view of the idle adjustment screw for the later models as seen from the right side of the bike.



        And here is the screw on an early model set. Note this is the airbox side of the carbs and it points up instead of down when mounted on the bike.

            Ohhhh...ok PHil. That seemed a little to glitz and glammy for you (way over the top for me also!). But for that price, they should come with a star on Hollywood Boulevard!

                My thought also was "DANG! Those are some clean and pretty carbs!" Then I find out they are ebay carbs. I will take my 52 dollar rack over those anyway! Well unless they are cheaper....

                      Ambidextrous....A long thin screwdriver is your friend here. That and a cleaned and oiled idle adjustment screw.
