  • Front axle torque?

I just finished re-installing my front wheel and the manual says that the torque value is 77 ft-lbs. I'm sure the axle nut was not anywhere near this value when I took it apart, so my question is this:
How freely should a front wheel spin after a re-installation?

With the wheel off the groung, mine won't keep going at all if I try give it a whirl. I'd guess that 5 to 10 lbs of force are needed to move the wheel. I'm new to motorcycle mechanics, so I'm very uncertain about this. I'll go for a slow run around the block and I'll check if it freed up. Like I said, I'm sure the P.O. had it off and was afraid to torque it, so the bearings may have loosenned in the hub.

    What do you think?

Yes, 77 ft*lbs is what the manual calls for. Be sure to follow the rest of the installation and torquing sequence in the manual, particularly the part about getting the left caliper aligned properly and tightening the axle holder nuts last, then you should be okay.
