I just finished re-installing my front wheel and the manual says that the torque value is 77 ft-lbs. I'm sure the axle nut was not anywhere near this value when I took it apart, so my question is this:
How freely should a front wheel spin after a re-installation?
With the wheel off the groung, mine won't keep going at all if I try give it a whirl. I'd guess that 5 to 10 lbs of force are needed to move the wheel. I'm new to motorcycle mechanics, so I'm very uncertain about this. I'll go for a slow run around the block and I'll check if it freed up. Like I said, I'm sure the P.O. had it off and was afraid to torque it, so the bearings may have loosenned in the hub.
What do you think?
