  • Throttle Butterfly Shaft Seals

Been working on the carbs for the 79F and ran into some confusion about the shaft seals. There were 2 sets of carbs with the new bike. One set had the seals installed with the groove in the seal pointing out, and the other had the groove pointing toward the center of the carbs. So ,for the definitive answer, which is the correct way to install the seals, groove facing in or out?

    hi tim,
the seals point outwards, this stops the air from being
    sucked in thru the shaft.
