Yes Pete, stock brake system on stock bars for an SH. I do not have a close up pic handy, but you can see it in this picture on the far handlebar.

You get the concept here that it is truned almost parallel to the centerline of the bike.

        thanx for the pic,
im lucky then, i always freak at buying parts from
the us for my bike, especially cables and such, theres
not much difference but enuff to make somethings fit or not.

nice bike btw, ive always prefered the rear end on the special
with the brake light sitting behind the seat and the blinker set up
compared to our bikes over here.

Phil, as you might have guessed, that pic is from last fall. And thanks for the compliment! It turned out better than I thought it would.

Unlikely, with them stating 81-84 they are likely set up for the linked brakes of the 81 midnight and the XJ.

No, the XJ (and '81 MNS) and XS have quite different brakes. The only part that crosses between them is the rotors. The XJ has a 'linked' system where one front and the rear is controlled by the foot pedal, the other front is off the handlebar control.

                        Totally different animal...

Just so you know this is the prices for the hel. It's the response that I got when asking about a 4 line kit and how the would want them measured.

Hello Nathan,** Sorry for the delay. O.K. The 5-line kit is HBF9332. To make the rear replace the 2 hoses and the metal pipe. I would need measurements of all three pieces from center of banjo bolt to center of banjo bolt. 4-line kit is $196. 00 5-line kit is $245.00 free shipping in the lower 48 states. Also you can also measure your fronts from M/C down to each caliper and forgo the block there and make it a 2-line front. That take it to 3-line kit or $147.00. You would just need to double and triple check your measurements. Any other questions let me know. Deb
