    Lead Switch in Meter Assembly

    Hi,

I was wondering what the "Lead Switch" in the Meter Assembly does? It is wired directly to the Flasher Cancelling Unit.

I would just go out and check on my bike, but I am deployed currently in the Middle East.

    Thanks in advance,
    Tim

That reed switch open/closes per measured amount the bike travels (two cycles per revolution of the speedo cable). That signal is sent to the turn signal canceller, and it makes a time/distance calculation based on how many/how quickly these pulses are and shuts off the signals.
