Backyard Mechanics Rule!

I recently had a problem with my xj1100 clunking to a halt when I would click it into 1st gear. Had all kinds of bad thoughts in mind as to the reason for this. The kill switch on the sidestand was sticking. Liberal application of spray lube cured it. Thanks to helpful advice from others here, I'm quite near getting on the road, as soon as the weather cooperates. Thanks to all.
