    frames???

    Real quick.....special frame same as standard.....for the purpose of a backrest? Thanks!!!

    Should be.... the top shock pick-up points are the same, as is the 'accessory' holes.

      Nope...differences in seat grab bars between models dictate the backrest mounting, they're NOT the same. BTDT.
      Former owner, but I have NO PARTS LEFT!

        Hi Tom,
        FWIW, the luggage rack/back rest combo from a Standard will NOT fit on a Special because the mounting holes are different.
        If whatever back rest you are thinking about uses those same holes it won't swap neither.

            Tom, the 78e 79f and 79sf special all have the same set up back there.
            79 XS11 Special (Lazarus)
            80 XS850 Special (Old Faithful)
            80 XS11 Standard sorta stock (Beatrice)

              I accuse myself of imprecision.
              For sure the luggage rack/backrest combo that came off a 1978 Standard did not fit on my 1980 Standard.
              XSlover doubtless has better info than I do about other years and types.
