I know I read somewhere that you have to be careful about your pods so they don't cover some small orifice in the carb. Does anyone know if the Emgos are any good? A guy has a set on ebay for fifty some bucks.

Thank you Tinman, I'll check these out. I assume they have no problem with blocking this "orifice" I've heard about?'79 XS11 Special, fork gaiters, Uni pods, 45 pilots, 140 mains, ditched the octy, solo seat, T kat fork brace

I've been running them for three years now with no problems...Healthy is merely the slowest rate at which you can die
Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better. I’ve always believed this, in spite of the trouble it’s caused me. emgo pods
I have two sets of these on different bikes, both run good, there seems to be no blockage, but since you are forewarned that there is the possibility of blockage you can be sure and look for that problem to begin with.
There might be a slight jetting change needed, but I havnt done that at all since both my bikes have the two into one pipes, either original or very similar.
I have had a couple of episodes where the original emgo clamps seemed to allow one or another pod to come off in use. I decided to use the oem yammi clamps to hold the pods on since they are thinner and hopefully will clamp more securely. I am waiting to put some miles on to test this theory about the oem clamps working better than the emgo wide clamps.Last edited by yamtom; 02-23-2011, 11:40 PM.Bikes Now.

gotta love the XS stamped on the ends of those MikesXS pods and they work good too.
But be real careful on the install. One time I wasn't and while "2 outa 3 ain't bad" is OK for a country and western song;

I have the emgo's mounted on the stock airbox inlets. My only problem is the rain. Popping off is not a problem for me seeing that I used stuff from the stock box.
