  • Electrical problems after sitting for the winter

    So after finally fixing a pick-up wire issue that prevented me from riding since last summer; I'm back on the road . But now that it's fixed, I find more interesting wiring problems. Now my neutral light never turns off reguardless of what gear and my turn signals don't work. I've checked for blown fuzes and they all are as they should be. Any ideas?

    Your neutral light is in the same wire loom as the pickuo coil wires. It is screwed into a little sensor at the front of the shifted cover/back of the timing cover. My bet us that it came loose when you were down there.

      sweet I know exactly what you're talking about with the sensor. I had erroneously throught that wire was a simple ground and secured it to a different bolt. the bolt for the sensor is lost. Do you know what the thread size is for that? Any suggestions for turn signals?

        Are they just not blinking, or not lighting up at all? Not blinking, look at the grounds. No lights at all, you'll have to check for power at various places, but my money would be on a bad connection/broken wire in the turn signal switch at the handlebars...

          That's a 3mm screw

          Same screw as the oil switch, BTW
          Former owner, but I have NO PARTS LEFT!

            Ok nice. Thanks for quick replies. I'll see if I can pick up another screw at Lowes/home depot. Looks like I'm hunting for a spark (yay)
