  • Special spanner for the triple tree nuts?

I want to tighten my steering head bearings but I don't have a tool to fit the two stacked nuts just below the upper pinch clamp. Does anyone know where to get one, or do I just need to whack them with the old screwdriver and hammer? I don't really want to use that "technique" if I don't have to, especially since there is zero feel for tightness doing it that way. Any help appreciated.

a good set of channel locks works to a point... then i resort to the flat punch and hammer.. I just have not looked for a spanner wrench.. I would just search the web for spanner wrenches that fit about the size you need

I've always used a brass punch and a hammer. It works great every time.

        wrenchless

Geez, I guess I am surprised that no one has found the "real" tool to do this with. I suppose that Yamaha had a special tool that is no longer available. I guess I can just whack em tight, just seems kinda crude.
