  • Coil upgrade, any suggestions?

I am looking to replace/up-grade the coils on my XJ and am looking for suggestions. I see a lot for the XS's but unsure if it applies to my bike. Simple as that. Thanks

Yup, anything that you can use for xs coils will work as for an XJ as long as they are 3 ohm coils.

Why would you buy coils from Mike's when you can have DYNA coils for less?

        DYNA COIL

Z1 Enterprises sells this part for the XS1100. What happens when you have a problem with Mike's coil and tell him it wasn't used on a XS650?

          That's a good suggestion I wasn't aware of thanks.
The mikesxs.net coils have a higher out put than the Dana coils but the difference may be mute for some.
There are no warranties on high output coils.
Here in Canada it's a better deal or similar in price to buy from the Canadian site XS650direct.com. by the time it arrives.

IIRC there is no returns or warranty on the electrical items anyways. At least as I understand it once it's been installed.

That applies to carb parts also!

Have there been issues with the Dyna coils while I was sleeping? I understand the Canada connection, but I have never regarded Mike's as first choice for XS11 parts. I have XS650's in the garage and I get a lot of parts from Mike's. Some are great, some are junk. I'm just not sure why what may be a Chinese coil is first choice when the Dyna coil is less money. I do understand the Canada part.

I don't have experience with either coil, so this is posted as a question rather than a remark.
