We're having trouble with the octopus on an XJ. Although the tank valves say "off" there doesn't seem to be an "off". Is there any way to remove the tank without all that gas running out everywhere?

I bet your going to have to rebuild your petcocks. Pitch off the fuel lines and then drain the tank into a gas can before removing it.Nathan

Yeah, "Off" should actually BE off. That should stop all fuel flow. I have used foreceps on the fuel lines, but I know golf tees work really well too.1980 XS850SG - Sold

Looks like PO has put label for left on right side and label for right side on the left. Setting the levers to prime turns off all gas...You can't stay young forever, but you can be immature for the rest of your life...
