Just curious, but has anyone tried to use xs650 parts (swing arm, chain, etc...) to convert the 11 to chain?

Hmmmm.... I dont think its wide enuff, nor strong enuff. Check out ebay for ZRX, bandit or ninja parts.... check out GPz stuff too... and XJR. Oh, u dont have those in US...

What about using fj11 parts,? From what i can tell, its the same engine as ours, so tranny - final drive parts souldnt be tht hard to match up......btw so far i like the shaft...(not tht way )im just givin ideas to those tht want to switch

The FJ 1100 uses a totally different engine than the XS. My wife rides an 84 FJ.(What a screamer!) Nothing is even close to similar between the two engines. I don't know if you could use the chain drive from an FJ or not. Why do you want to get away from the shaft drive? It's clean, quiet, and requires no adjustment, or replacement. Just fresh gear oil once in a while, and you're good to go. Good luck!
