The muffler is "tack" welded to the header .The muffler inlet is looks much larger than the header .Performance will suck if I am correct. I guess it was welded on because a clamp was useless . Buyer beware!!!

I'll have to look at my pipes at home, but it may not even be a ST header. Definitely a buyer be cautious item.

I asked him for more pics and he said there were enough pics there and he would not provide anymore pics.

I think I am going to leave this sale alone, not trustworthy in my opinion with that kind of resoonse....

Thanks for the heads up! The baffle might be the only super trap thing about it, but if you got it for $50 and resold the baffle you should be able to recover some of your money... then just buy the correct baffle. Headers are hard to find...wonder if it really fits a Yamaha...

Probably doesn't even exist with that response.

How the heck do you "tack weld" an aluminum cannister to a steel header?

Stayin' far away from this one...

Well you can weld aluminum to steel but it's not easy and i doubt very much this guy went to all the trouble to do it right . I think it's tin that is painted with a aluminum colour paint.

Let me say that it's more like attaching or similar to brazing the aluminum to the steel. You can't fuse steel to aluminum but it is still referred to as welding.

It's not tin, I had one just like it...was gonna get an adapter to match the ID of the cannister to the OD of a set of headers, gave it away instead....(would have had to cut off the hanger and have it relocated in the right spot..too much trouble..)
