  • $100 79 Special!

As it seems I will be on hold forever for my cr special carb parts for the xs1200 project. I've been looking for another project to keep me from going crazy this winter. I found a $100 special that has been setting in a field for 3 years! I really didn't know if I wanted to take it, even at $100.
I had about seven hours picking it up and I spent the afternoon today cleaning the nests out of it and flushing out the tank ect. Can you believe it fired right up and ran nice after cleaning out the air box and gas tank!!!!
I'm rounding up some forks and brakes on ebay. I'd bet I should replace the tires, but they look good. I think I may have a OK bike to ride for $200. $400 if I replace the tires. I think that's about the best I've ever done.

There was a board under the kick stand. Both the board and the tires had sunk into the ground.

Geo...it was in Coatsville.....that's west of Philly. Nothing but farms and barns for miles. I took the sissy bar and crash bars off and put them on ebay, didn't even get and email. I had big ideas of getting my $100 back! Oh well guess I'll have to pay full price.
Foreda....what the hell are you talking about. If it's the sissybar, it's already off.
P.S. I finally got my 73 Les Paul refinished, wired and back together. I've been schooling the young'ins on classic hard rock. My nephew just looks at it and drools. He's a natural born guitar player...makes me sick.
