  • Pilot jet confusion

I just replaced the mains and pilots with 145 and 45 sizes respectively.
According to the Clymer manual the 78 is stock with 137.5 and 42.5 jets, the mains I removed are indeed marked 137.5 but the pilots are clearly marked 45.
Am I a victim of a really silly PO that would just upgrade the pilots and leave the mains alone, or is there an error in the manual?

Either way, if anyone has a need for 137.5 mains or 45 pilots, let me know.
Oh also, the 1.45mm drill does NOT fit inside the 137.5 mains. but does fit the 145 mains rather well, so if anyone is interested in going that route, again let me know.

In Yamahas offical "book of lies" in both the carb section and in the section that's supposed to show "corrections" for mistakes in the manual as well as in the tech tips here it shows 42.5 for the pilot jet.

All my stock 79's have 42.5's, never have had a E though.

I think this error is duplicated in the Haynes manual too. I found the same on my F. I just put the new jets in as per the Georgefix kit and the bike runs fine...
