  • xs650 intake boots

    well i know some of the xs650 carb parts will swap over to the xs1100 but will the intake boots fit the xs1100... wondering because i was hoping these---------------------> http://www.tcbroschoppers.com/store/...&products_id=3 would work

    You can get a set of 4 new ones on ebay for $45. plus the ebay ones are at least one piece units, whereas those just look like a piece of aluminum with a rubber sleeve that you hoseclamp over it.

      You'll need two sets @ $75 per, and they still don't have the needed 'bend' the OEM boots have....

        well i was asking because unlike the rubber ones. theses wont crack

          But how often do they crack? If you bought a new set at 45 bucks and took care of the bike and didn't let it sit outside in the sun for 10 years, I bet they wouldn't crack on you.

            Hi Lee,
            anything that's made out of rubber will crack after a decade or so exposed to vibration, gas fumes, sunlight etc.
            so be grateful yours have lasted as long as they have.
            A new set of rubber inlets should be good for at least ten years, eh?
            The write-up on those machined adapters says they'll better resist the extra loads when the carbs are unsupported at the rear because of using pods instead of the stock airbox.
            That's true, but a frame-mounted bracket will do the same at far lesser cost.
