  • Payback--Ya gotta love neighbors

As I mentioned earlier, I work on my bike in a carport and used tarps for protection from the elements. A neighbor stopped by to see if I could use some scrap plywood. I showed him where to put it and when he came back he had 2 more guys and tools with him. In about 2 hours they put up 3 walls and hung a tarp (doubled) for the door and moved a wood burner into my little tool storage area. In short, I now have a heated 10x20 garage (of sorts) to work in!!! I kept the coffee flowing and the stove going and offered to pay for their efforts, but they declined calling it "Payback" for loaning tools and mechanical help when they needed it over the years. So, no more tears. I can't cry about having to work on the bike (or cars) in 20 degree weather anymore. Semper Fi.

                    great nieghbors

It seems that not long ago each man would pay it forward when lent a hand by even a stranger. It good to see the principal of being neighborly does pay off. Rasputin must have been treated real well in the past because he is the good neighbor that kept me and my XS on the road this season. Good work all of you that lend your expertise and time to those who need a good neighbor in our lives to keep moving forward.

A musician friend of mine from France wrote an instrumental dedicated to his neighbors & it was entitled "Intolerance".

It's really wonderful when you have neighbors like they are to you & you are to them. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful experience.

                          Merry Christmas
