    shim library?

is the shim library gone? just wondering as i am now adjusting the valve clearances. though i don't know if it needs to be done because the actual clearances are so close to spec that if i change a shim i'll be right on the other end of the range.

like in a range of .16 - .20 for the intake i'm at .15 so down one size and i'll be at .20 which side of the spec range is it better to be on?

all of my shims are at least this close. should i bother changing them? it does backfire a bit but that could be carbs.

It's better to have the gap on the larger side of the scale. The gap will close a bit over time. Here's a good source for the 29MM shims if the library doesn't work out....
