  • Removing Rear Caliper

Hi, bought a parts bike for my 80 XS1100,pretty well have it all stripped to the frame. My question is how do you remove the rear brake caliper? Do you have to remove the wheel first? Sure am having fun with this bike, I can't believe how good it works; almost scarry power!!!! Thanks:Rick
1980 XS 1100 replaced the seat and sissy bar from a XS 1100 standard and changed the handle bars. Did not like the original bars at all.No mod at all except for a four into one header.

You can simply unbolt the caliper and remove it...except there is a screw in the backside of the caliper... almost a set screw that must be removed first. You will have to look from the left side of the bike to see it and to remove it.
