broken trip knob repair

id been running around with a broken trip meter knob
for sometime now when i thought of trying this.
i attached a small piece of vac line to the trip meter knob
and then was able to slide that onto the speedo.
works well

Thanks, I've been wondering what I was going to do about that problem. What size vac line?

sorry wingnut, im not to sure, maybe quarter inch?
it was just lying around, it was a very tight
fit (hot water and silicon spray) for the knob
and it slid over nicely onto the speedo, but i also
removed the broken piece that was attached to the speedo.
