Bike is looking really cool!! I like switching up the color scheme like that, making it your own. The exhaust I think will defintiely draw attention, which matches the rest of the gold work on it. I like the black muffler with the pipes. Of course, the pipes are a bit off in color from the rest of the gold, but I also wonder hwo well or long that will hold up to running temps.

      Looking very very nice !!!

Yes, I wonder about that too, how long they'll stay looking like that. Time will tell.
        Thanks for the compliment.

          Your bike

I like the colors so far and the color of the pipes will look good with all the accent. I like you can not quite imagine the RED with the black yet but it should do fine.

People here may not really dislike the colors. It may be related to some of the problems with painting. Personally on my bike I had another set of headers and sand blasted them. I used high quality etching primer and 1500 degree paint on them. The paint unfortunately did not last long.
To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.

Hey, I like any bike that is custom. I too ceramic coated my exhaust and have loved it so far. Disregard the yellow fuel hose, it's trimmed and out of sight. Anyway, I like the build, keep the pics coming.

You might try this paint.... http://www.seymourpaint.com/high_temperature_paint.html
I've had very good luck with their products, as these have been the most durable paints I've found for tough enviroments. Their 'stainless steel' paint in particular gives a nice 'bare metal' look on parts. Not real cheap and a bit hard to find (try auto body supply houses, you'll rarely find this in 'regular' parts stores), but great stuff. I think the paint Eastwood sells is made by these guys, you might ask...

                Gold Letter Day

Cobia, the gold and black exhaust looks good! If I squint just right at the earlier picture of the bike on the trailer with the burgundy tank and side covers I can visualize it with the new gold headers and trim.

It's hard to tell from the picture of the complete system mounted on the bike but did you repaint the gold lettering on the R.C. Engineering logo or did you mask it off and paint around it?

                  Guys,
Yeah, I think the combination with the wine/burgundy colored tank with gold trim will look good with the black and gold trim.

                  3Phase,
The gold on the emblem was still good so I masked the entire emblem off while painting the muffler. Then I sprayed some of the black hight temp paint into a rattle can paint top and with a small brush filled in the black areas around the gold lettering on the emblem. The fine brushes came form a neighbor. She had a bunch she gave me because her sister is a woman's makeup rep !!!! So they are women's eye makeup brushes that I used !!!!
Hey !! If it's free, (and they do the job) it's for me !!!!! HE, HE !!!

Thanks a bunch buddy. With me starting that new job it leaves little time for tinkering. Besides, I can truthfully say just about everything I've learned about the XS11 carbs came from you. So no one better than you to get them tweaked just right.
                        Thanks for your generosity.
I can't wait to get them on and fire it up.

Well, Phill came up with the carbs on Sat, we slapped them in and after over a year of hearing it fire up...... VROOMMM!!!! Dude, you're the best !!!
Phil was kind enough to take the time to synch them and off we went for a ride....
Today, I installed the rear signal lights, the clutch cable, speedo cable, battery sensor in the new battery, and other various and sundry details... can anybody give me a massage???
Regardless, we discovered that the petcocks are leaking, so I ordered the rebuild kits from Georgefix and I'm waiting for them. But I took it out for a ride today and ..... it's aewsome. Getting used to the sound of the RC exhaust vs, the Kerker on the G but that's kind of a high quality problem, don't you think?
Regardless, here a a few low quality pics to show you where the restore is at. It's kind of finished......Will take better ones soon.......
