    Hey Tom,

If you have the older style carbs where the tops of the mixture screws are exposed, they do not use an o-ring. The newer style with the screw down inside the tower do.

They use an o-ring AND a washer, o-ring goes in firtst then the washer against the spring. If it's the right size the o-ring will be tight enough to hold the spring and washer in place on the needle and you can then put it in the hole.

I have an extra set of 80 or 81 carbs and the orings must have rotted and I didn't see any washers??? What size are they?

Sorry, in my previous post I was referring to the size of the o-rings. I don't have any of the washers. I get them from McMaster-Carr. The part numbers are 9263K511 for the Viton o-rings, and 99040A316 for the washers that I would use. They come in packs of 25 and not cheep if you just want 4 of them. I have thought about repacking them for sale in sets of 4, but I can't find a good source for the springs.
