    Hi Steve,
how about you fake up covers out of cardboard and duct tape?
Once the shape is right, fiberglass right on top of the cardboard and paint the new covers to match the tank.

          • Wow. Thats very cool looking. I just picked up an 80 xs11 and this gave me a ton of ideas.. that motor came out great and im glad you didnt have to tare it down again to see if the ring was upside down..

Also did you just paint ur frame or did you have it powdercoated?

And you should do a write up on how you made those pvc air pods.. those sold me.

            Thanks for the read

Hows the bike running? have you been using it much since the spring seems to be arriving?

              • Nope, haven't ridden it much at all. I had some back issues that started in the fall last year and just had surgery on it about three weeks ago, so I'll need a little more recoupe time. It's driving me crazy though I haven't been on a bike in over 8 months~!
I actually ended up having to get another tank for the bike, there must have been some tiny holes remaining in the other tank that started bubbling the paint. Oh well.
