    From the factory yes. There is a member here, xschop, who has developed ans sells a chain drive conversion though.

      You are in for one hell of a ride, or more!
      The first is the challenge of getting all the bugs worked out of a machine more than thirty years old (but at least you won't be hassled by the need to interpret diagnostic trouble codes...)
      The second is, of course, the sheer joy of twisting the grip on one of these beasts that you have resurected yourself, and experience the pucker factor that it can induce!

        I'm looking forward to the experience. I have enjoyed my Honda CB750K for several years. Now I think I want to move up and also try a different brand. I have never owned a Yamaha, only Honda.
