79 Petcock nipples coming out with the fuel line

HELP, I know you more expierenced guys have seen, i moved the clamp down the fuel line, off the nipple, took a screwdriver to gently push the fuel line down off the nipple, and then im looking at the nipple in the end of the fuel line. It happened on the other side too. I had some mysterious fuel leaking ,and i guess i now know why. any way to secure /glue the nipple back into the petcock?

same thing has happened to me,
tho i was riding the bike at the time.
there a pressed fit, give it a tap with a small hammer
and knock them back in.

any relation to the Wideopen motocross racing family,
the brothers Holdit and Stuk and their sister Thys?
Most likely not, eh?
Anyhow, use acetone to clean off the spigots and the pockets they pulled out of and slather the spigots with Loctite bolt locker before you do what Pete sez and tap them back in with a small hammer.

Hey, Pete thanks for the advise, and the welcome. As far as fred goes ( notice the little f) you'll have to excuse him, he cant spell, cant ride a two wheeled bike anymore, and now rides a tricycle, so im told by other members, guess i would crab'in too...ps he probley had to have help spelling acetone, no fred it doesnt have two ss's...

79 XS1100 fuel line problem ended

OH, Nooo! Fred, Your not going to start talking backwards now are you, im still trying to figure out the spelling 2bwideopen was from the days of my youth, and my first bike, a 1968 Kaw.Bushwacker 175 that was 2 yrs old, and a 14 yr old boy growing up in Morro Bay Ca. and 4 mi. of wide flat beach, cars and motors were still allowed on the sand, and full throttle wide open, at a wop'pin 72 mph. YeeoooW! ...Now bikes are faster, tons of people, and i know my 8 yr old son will probley never get to know something like that. Remember those days Fred...Here in Or. I'll take my 81 ninja out for some carving, but no more wide open....

I'm surprised that the father of an 8 year old hasn't got the complete dialog from Star Wars off by heart.
FYI, the Wideopens were a family of Scandinavian moto-cross racers who's adventures were featured in a series of spoof stories in a bike magazine back in the '70s.
The elder brother Holdit was the skilled rider while the younger brother Stuk usually got the fastest lap award but usually DNF. Little sister Thys made sure that other riders were too tired to ride at their best pace.

no, acetone is a solvent while the homonym (that's two different words that sound the same but have different meanings) is properly spelled "arsetone".
In adult males it's about an octave below middle C.

Who cars if he spells it wrong... sometimes the spellcheckers mess up sometimes people like me with fat fingers hit the wrong keys...

The main reason I didn't get an 86 bmw a few years ago was because how rude the people on the site were to each other. They were a bunch of stuck up snobs complaining all the time about how people who can't spell are basically trash.
Thank god I bought the radian intead!!!
