  • OEM fuel hose

What is it and where do I get it. What's available to me locally has a much larger OD and will require all new clamps. I would prefer to avoid that. I like spring clamps in this application.

A lot of people say to order some 3/8 tygon line and then its tight enough to not use clamps.

I think you meant 3/16" not 3/8" which would be larger then 1/4"

      3/16" tygon tubing.

        Fuel line.

Tygon is a little expensive but a real good hose.
In my experience even with dirt bikes, a zip tie held with pliers and pushed to close tight with long nosed pliers works better than the spring clamps.

OI use 1/4-inch ID thin walled fuel line that they sell at my local MC shops for about $1 a foot. Car parts suppliers don't sell it, at least not around here. I use spring clamps on it that I also get from them.

Like others here, I have used the stuff from the local MC shop. I also used to be able to get the Briggs and Stratton yellow fuel line at my local chain hardware store (now they went even cheaper and that crap sucks). I ran for two years with the B&S fuel line on Thunderstruck, no problems at all.

You probably already know this, but I advise against the automotive fuel line with the hard outer liner and the softer inner rubber. I tried that for a while and it drove me insane because the soft inner rubber would chaffe off pieces everytime I hooked ti to the fuel Ts in the carbs. Those pieces would clog my float valves and they would leak! Finally figured it out and went to the B&S line and never had leak issues again....well....not on the bike anyway.

Ah yes, Mike's XS. I have hopes of finding some locally, because every mail order sets me back a month. That's because my job has me away three weeks at a time. At least, Mike's is very fast.

+1 to the tygon stuff. I buy mine at O'reilly for just over $2/foot. Works great, and stays flexible, plus you can see through it for checking fuel levels in the float bowls.

I use this stuff with Tropic-al's zip tie clamps. Works good so long as you don't kink it. I changed the hose routing as per other posts so the left side now feeds #3 & 4 and the right side feeds #1 & 2. This allows a long enough loop to prevent the kink and I can run small filters.
