    @ everyone:

    Thanks for your thorough and prompt responses. I still have the pads which are semi-worn, and 2 other pistons which look even better than the one in the top picture, so I will try that out and do some serious brake testing before trusting my life to them.

    Now onto my next problem, which I'll start a new thread for... Needing a replacement idle mixture screw..

      Georgefix on ebay, get hold of him and he can set you up with carb parts!

        If they are later model carbs you can get just the idle mixture screws from MikeXS. You can also get the o-ring that goes under the washer which is really important if you want to be able to adjust the mixture correctly.
