MRO, are those real live stock MNS NOS pipes? Or did you have a set powder coated or soemthing?
Originally were chrome, recently powder coated on one of my SF's.
This is the same set I posted (end of last year???) where I had tried to salvage them myself by grinding, filing and sanding out all the rust pits and fixing the dents in the muffs.

All the prep work seemed to pay off and I actually like the look of the high temp rattle can job better than the high temp powder coat. BUT rattle can is just not durable. Totally bites to spend months fixing up a bike to look and ride sharp just to have some of the rust to return even if it was only a spot or two..

I'll take it as a teachable moment (about twenty hours of prep )
that I will not repeat when I get around to restoring my LG.

I had the XS1100 given to me, and I rescued my 1980 CB750 Honda from a farm yard in Nebraska for $1000, so Ive not got a lot of money tied up. Bikes in NZ are extremely expensive, and so far Im into both my bikes for $1200 not including a few parts and freight. So at the end of the day if I ship them and eventually sell one down them, I am miles in front, and I get to ride a classic around some of the best roads in the world........Im a winner which ever way I look at it, and I like the challenge of doing stuff like shipping, taking on government pen pushers, registry departments etc etc.

Our beaurocrats are notoriously pig headed and hard to deal with... so good luck with that. If I can be of any help whatsoever feel free to call, text or PM me here.
