  • New tire question for XJ1100

Just got some new tires and had one quick question regarding clearance on the front fender. Originally, 100/90 and replaced with 110/90 Avon and only have about 1/4" - 1/2" clearance. What about when this tire heats up? Rubbing, clearance? Thanks

That should be fine. The tire will 'grow' a bit after some use (but not much) and at high speed will tend to get taller but you should still have enough room.

      Hi Jamie,
a 110 width tire is the absolute maximum size that will clear the front fender.
It'll work OK on paved roads but if you ride on muddy trails and the mud lodges between the wheel and the fender you will experience the viscous braking effect.
