  • 1981 xs1100SH, finally!

On February 27th I put $100 down on a 1981 xs1100SH with the balance of $650 due when I picked up the bike. The guy I bought from, bought from his boss after it was seized from a storage unit for non-payment. The bike had been in storage for over eight years. Unfortunately he did not get the tile from his boss and the boss was in Florida on vacation for at least another month.

The first week of April I paid him another $325 and picked up the bike so I could start working on it while still waiting for him to get a clear title. How ever I did not do anything to the bike because there were so many complications to getting the title.

And so the game began. After more that 100 emails back and forth I finally took matters into my own hands and got a clear title on Saturday and I sent him the remaining $325.

The reason I went through all of this is evident when you see the pictures of the bike.

Did it come with a tank, seat, carbs? Looks like a pretty nice bike from what is shown. That speedo is non-stock, but nice if it reads accurately.

Considering he's in Ontario, the speedo is likely original.

        Ditto on the Kmh Speedo.

Looks to be in really good shape along with a nice set of spaghetti pipes!

A seat, tank, side covers, get it running and ride it.

        Congrats!

              Thanks for your comments.

I did forget to mention that everything came with it except the mirrors.

The tank needs to be sealed and painted (white with big blue stars).

                81 xs1100 SH

Someone tell me why from all of the pics this looks like a xj100j, side rails, air shocks. The exhaust look like the same exhaust that I had on my 79 special. I've been looking for some vetter bags and brackets for my xj1100j, well just maybe the brackets are the same on this xs1100 sh, just hoping. DLTimberman

His pics are actually of two different bikes it seems. 1-8 or 9 are of an XS11. 12 on appear to be an XJ with the YICS emblem and different rear seat rail, air box, ect.
