write down the serial number and it's lettering prefix on the steering head.
Ask the search button about bike identification.
Or post the serial lettering prefix here and someone will tell you.
A photo works too.Fred Hill, S'toon

XJ's have the letters YICS on the stator cover on the engine. XS's don't.

I'll vouch for George Fix as well. Bought a number of kits from him and always decen pricing with good delivery time and good quality.
He also knows the stuff he is selling and the application data to make sure you get the right parts if you tell him the year make model and style of your bike, like it is an 81 Yam XS1100 Standard. He knows what goes for the 81 versus the 80 or 79 or 78 models. I've ran into a number of folks lately who get kits form someplace that does no know and they end up with the wrong style of pilot jets or size of mains and the bike won't run or runs like crap.
Stick with people who know how to apply what they sell and not just price and delivery and you should do fine.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!
When your work speaks for itself, don't interrupt.
