• My new to me XJ1100 Maxim

This is my first post as I'm new to this site. I wanted to introduce myself and show you what I recently saved from a boneyard. It was mere days away from being dismantled and sold for parts. My uncle and I were searching for a part for a different scooter when we saw this sitting around. He asked the guy if he could attempt to get it running and buy it if he was successful. We got it running after a couple of hours and a trip to the parts store and we carried it home with us. Unexpectedly, he tossed me the keys and told me to load it up and take it home with me. After a long trip from Utah to Kansas City, she now has a new home. It needs a good cleaning and minor repairs here and there (what 28 year old bike doesn't) but I look forward to using this forum to assist me in returning it to as close to original condition as possible. Anyways, wonderful site and I look forward to my time spent here. I look forward to comments regarding the bike itself.

How do I get the actual pictures to show rather than just the links?

When you're replying, click the picture button just above the text window, and paste the link to your photos in the box. Alternatively, you can put at the end of the link.

Very, very nice bike! You lucked out big time! Finding the full Vetter luggage setup on an XJ is really tough too, so that's a big bonus! Clean out the brake system, check the electrical, and change all the fluids, and you'll be on the road in no time!

Nice find. Thats a Windjammer V fairing, last of the Vetters that would fit the XS / XJ bikes. Looks fully loaded with the optional sound system option. If you need to get parts or lowers for it, make sure you specify that is a V model.
