  • XS1100 and the black box

I thought I read somewhere about somebody modifying their bike so it didn't use the black cdi box.

has anyone else seen or heard of this?

I can't imagine why anyone would want to do that. Without that you would need points and condensor and that means more trouble. Unless you went to a better box that is!

Actually, there was a guy in Germany that showed us a modification to the pick-up coils and plate that was supposed to do away with the black box. There used to be pix in the Yahoo site, as well as a hydraulic clutch set-up.
