  • 1979 Speedo

I just bought a 160mph speedo off a 79 XS11 and am putting it on my 80 Special. Do I also need to change the little do hickey (the actual name escapes me right now) on the front tire as well?

No it's a direct swap no need to change the "do hickey" which is sometimes called a speedometer gear unit assembly.

Thankfully all the xs's are the same stupid 2.9:1 gear ratio so no need to swap do hickies
