  • Factory Saddle Bag Cover missing

While riding the other day I lost one of my saddle bag covers. I retraced my whole ride but no luck. Does anyone know where I can find one of these things. It's fiberglass. Probably not too hard to make for someone with the knowhow. I'd rather just find a used one

    Thanks

    Saddle Bag Lid

    Mike...
I have a used set of bags for an '80 model...they look similiar but do not have the same "latch".
My best guess would be to search e-bay or the three million or so salvage yards located in every state in the union...billwheelerenterprise...ricepaddydaddy...e tc...just type "used motorcycle parts" into your search engine... ...and that should keep you busy for about a month

Some guys talk about a CD that has several hundred MC salvage yards on it...some yards use a "parts locator" system...when you ask them for a part...they put out a "locator" on it...and you can get "hits" from all over the USA and several different "price quotes" for the same part.
If I had bags with "removable lids" like yours...I'd make a "tether" for it...IE; a small piece of plastic coated cable that would prevent the lid from from being "taken away" or "lost" or from falling off.
My Pacifico Bags have such a "cable" to prevent the lid from being "forced" open to far...it "limits" the lid to the open or closed position...and re-tracts inside the bag when you close the lid.

    Good luck with your search...

Mike, I have a set of those bags, same color, in good condition but don't really want to sell just a top. If you are interested in having spares I am open to any offer for the set. I also have a matching trunk that I will never use. I travel through your area every couple of weeks so getting them to you would not be a problem. I don't like packing and shipping such bulky items. You can contact me at "bajaviking@aol.com" if interested.
